1. Where’s your evidence? Using research to support clinical decision making (Workshop at Uffculme, 2hrs)
This course is aimed at healthcare workers and will enable you to acquire the skills to locate relevant research to support patient care. Resources examined will be the healthcare databases such as Medline and PsycINFO, finding systematic reviews on Cochrane and how to obtain evidence-based healthcare summaries.
There will be some time at the end to try out your own searches and options for further follow up help will also be mentioned.
This training can also be offered, upon request, to all trust staff on alternative dates and times via remote access to any PC or on a face-to-face basis at Barberry or Uffculme.

2. Finding information for assignments (Workshop at Barberry, 2hrs)
This course is aimed at anyone writing assignments and dissertations for coursework. We will mostly be focussing on the large literature searching databases such as Medline, CINAHL and PsycINFO.
The course will cover how to make the most of all the resources available to you and will also touch upon referencing.
There will be some time at the end to try out your own searches and options for further follow up help will also be mentioned.
