No guilty pleasure…. it’s official – reading is good for you!

A recent review of literature commissioned by the Reading Agency The impact of reading for pleasure and empowerment found that it can bring a range of benefits to individuals and society.

So why not take a break with a book and come along to the Barberry Book Club, a new informal reading group for BSMHFT staff. We meet monthly at the Barberry during the lunchtime period to share views on a different book each time. Copies of the current book are available to borrow from the Barberry library. Everyone is welcome.

This month we travel back in time to 1800s Bath and Spain with The Misbegotten by Kate Webb, bestselling author of The Legacy.

The Misbegotten

We will be meeting to discuss the book on Thursday 6th October, 12:15-1:00pm, Barberry Seminar Room 2.

Feel free to bring your lunch along – refreshments will be provided.

‘Intricately plotted and chillingly imaginative, this is a dramatic and evocative period mystery, a compelling exploration of obsession, deceit and steadfast affection.’  Good Book Guide

Please contact the Barberry library for more information. We can post a copy of the book to your workplace if you are not based at The Barberry/Oleaster and want to join us on the 5th October.
