Due to all library staff now working remotely from home, Uffculme Library remains closed with Barberry Library open for 24hr access to hot-desking, copying and remote book loans.
We are continuing to offer remote services such as enquiries, ebook loans, article requests, access to online resources and a literature search service. However, these may be at a reduced level.
To ensure continuity of service, we will also be offering a remote service for issuing books – full information about how to do this is provided on the library counter.
The library catalogue (www.base-library.nhs.uk) is available 24/7 but unfortunately we are no longer able to provide postal loans. If there is a particular title you require access to, please contact us and we will add it to our ebook collection for use online. You can access our full online collection via our library website https://bsmhft-test.wordpress.ptfs-europe.co.uk – an Openathens username and password is required. If you don’t already have an account, you can self-register at: https://openathens.nice.org.uk/
Changes to BASE Library terms and conditions of service
- Any library item currently on loan has automatically been extended until 30 April 2020.
- You can still return items via internal post or the book return boxes located outside each library or, alternatively, you are welcome to hold onto the items, which will continue to be automatically renewed, until we notify you that they should be returned.
- Any overdue fines which have been incurred since 16 March will be cleared and fines will be suspended for all items until further notice. If you were unable to renew or return items before 16 March owing to ill health or disruption caused by the coronavirus, please contact us and we will amend your account accordingly.
- Notifications have been temporarily suspended until further notice which means that you will not receive reminders or overdue notices. We will contact you again to give you notice when this is due to be reinstated.
